A Favicon - abbreviated from "favourites icon" and also known as a web page icon.


What is a Favicon?


A Favicon – abbreviated from “favourites icon” and also known as a web page icon. It is a small picture associated with a particular website or even a single web page.

It is generally shown in three areas of your web browser and it is useful for branding your company.






URL or Web Address Bar

Look at the web address bar at the top of web browser and you will see my Favicon next to the web site address.

Web Page Tab

If you use tabbed browsing (having several web pages open at once) then you will notice that each tab has a Favicon displayed.

Bookmark or Favourite Folder

If you add this site to your browser favourites, sometimes called bookmarks, you will notice that my Favicon is along side the website listing.  This makes it easier for you to locate next time you look in your Favourites, my Favicon is visually reminding you of who I am.
